Dr. Britt Alexandra Peterson is a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and practitioner of East Asian medicine. She aught yoga, Pilates, and other forms of movement for almost 10 years, and is deeply interested in the way the physical body so beautifully connects with our mental and emotional state. Dr. Britt uses her background, training, and caring nature to help her patients return to and maintain a state of balance and holistic well-being.
Dr. Britt is also earned her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine (DAIM) from Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College (AIMC) in Berkeley, California. Her doctoral research was focused on introducing natural, preventative healthcare to teens and young adults. She is passionate about working with this population to find holistic solutions to anxiety, depression, and stress.
Dr. Britt discovered the profound effects of acupuncture and East Asian Medicine after a Vespa accident in her late twenties. She found that while the acupuncture treatments allowed for more ease and comfort in her body, the healing involved all aspects of herself. It soon became clear that her life’s purpose is to share this poetic, ancient medicine with others, and thus her journey began. Dr. Britt’s interest in the five pillars of East Asian Medicine and her desire to integrate these philosophies into her own life has only grown since then.
Dr. Britt is inspired by creating with others, sharing knowledge, and advocating for what she believes in. When not practicing, teaching, or learning, you can find Dr. Britt reading novels in a cozy nook somewhere, soaking in natural hot springs, practicing qi gong, or exploring her local and worldly surroundings.
