Dr. Britt Alexandra Peterson is a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and practitioner of East Asian medicine. She aught yoga, Pilates, and other forms of movement for almost 10 years, and is deeply interested in the way the physical body so beautifully connects with our mental and emotional state. Dr. Britt uses her background, training, and caring nature to help her patients return to and maintain a state of balance and holistic well-being.

Dr. Britt is also earned her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine (DAIM) from Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College (AIMC) in Berkeley, California. Her doctoral research was focused on introducing natural, preventative healthcare to teens and young adults. She is passionate about working with this population to find holistic solutions to anxiety, depression, and stress.

Dr. Britt discovered the profound effects of acupuncture and East Asian Medicine after a Vespa accident in her late twenties. She found that while the acupuncture treatments allowed for more ease and comfort in her body, the healing involved all aspects of herself. It soon became clear that her life’s purpose is to share this poetic, ancient medicine with others, and thus her journey began. Dr. Britt’s interest in the five pillars of East Asian Medicine and her desire to integrate these philosophies into her own life has only grown since then.

Dr. Britt is inspired by creating with others, sharing knowledge, and advocating for what she believes in. When not practicing, teaching, or learning, you can find Dr. Britt reading novels in a cozy nook somewhere, soaking in natural hot springs, practicing qi gong, or exploring her local and worldly surroundings.

Dr. Hana is a Doctor of Eastern Medicine and acupuncturist. She is a graduate of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, California, and has a Masters of Science in Eastern Medicine with an emphasis on Japanese Acupuncture and Herbalism, in addition to a Doctoral degree from the Pacific College of Health and Science.

Hana has always had an interest in how our internal experiences relate to our external bodies. After pursuing a B.S. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, she spent several years working as a residential mental health counselor for youth diagnosed with Schizophrenia. Here, through creating nutrition and exercise workshops, she observed a huge improvement in the resident’s wellness and clarity. During this same period, neck pain from a car accident led her to experience East Asian Medicine, where she discovered the immense healing potential of Acupuncture. She’s inspired by the medicine’s poetic alignment with the natural world.

Clinically, Dr. Hana focuses on regulating systems in the body that have become imbalanced overtime. This includes rhythms of hormones, mood, digestion and sleep, with an emphasis on women’s health. Her review of Acupuncture’s effect on reproductive hormones and the uterus has been published in the Journal of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine. She practices with a gentle Japanese needling style.

When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Hana loves spending time in nature and with friends, rock climbing and cooking.

Hi, I’m Heather. I’m a state licensed acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner as well as a certified yoga instructor. I received a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine with a focus on women’s health and integrative medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, California. My practice is located near downtown San Rafael in beautiful Marin county. Discovering a Holistic Approach to Health I am deeply appreciative of the profound beauty of Chinese medicine and how its principles connect our human experience to the seasons and elements of nature. I was initially drawn to this medicine because of its holistic approach to health, its understanding that emotions play a vital role in our wellness and the perspective that each human body is both unique and complex. I believe that the body, mind and spirit are all connected creating an individualized ecosystem and that bothersome symptoms are showing us an imbalance in that system. The good news is that we each have the capacity to heal within us. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine help to activate the natural healing resources already present in our bodies to restore balance. Helping Patients Reach Their Personal Health Goals I believe that everyone deserves to feel good and live with vitality. I’m here to support your healing process with compassion and empathy. I provide the space to be heard, offer services that initiate healing and encourage you to take an active role in your journey to optimal health. Whether it be through acupuncture, massage, lifestyle recommendations, movement practices or a combination of all of these, I work closely with each patient to create a treatment plan that works best for their personal health goals. On a Personal Note When I’m not in clinic, I enjoy hiking, yoga, traveling, thrift and antique shopping, cooking without a recipe and diving into a good book. I’m a wife and mom and love spending time with my family whether it’s going on a new adventure or curling up to watch a movie together. I feel most at peace in nature and am continually hoping to spend more time in the trees or at the beach.
